Michael Ross takes a disciplined approach to investing and managing client relationships for over 30 years at Morgan Stanley. He works with individuals, families, businesses, and non-profits. Michael joined Morgan Stanley’s Portfolio Management Program in 1997 and earned his Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation from the Wharton School of Business in1999. Two years later Citigroup Trust Company tapped him for the role of Fiduciary Portfolio Manager. In 2015, he was promoted to Executive Director in the firm’s Wealth Management office in San Jose.
He co-founded the Portfolio Management Institute (PMI), of which he is a past president and lifetime member. He is also co-founder of the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers and past President. He works extensively on portfolio management topics with Columbia University. He is Certified Portfolio Manager® and has been managing discretionary portfolios through Morgan Stanley Portfolio Management Platform since 1997. He remains a lifetime member of the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers.
In 2016, he recognized that the rising affluence of his clientele demanded he improve his skillset to meet client needs. He first earned the Certified Private Wealth Advisor from the Investments and Wealth Institute. Then he was selected to participate in Morgan Stanley’s well respected Family Wealth Director Program, which he passed the very arduous exams in 2017.
He is on the Board of the United States Air Force Academy Endowment. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a Master of Arts Degree from State University of New York.
